APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR READING CLOTH PATTERN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and inexpensive apparatus which can read pattern data from cloths having unnoticeable patterns of dents and bumps. SOLUTION: This apparatus for reading the pattern with dents and bumps formed on the cloth has means for detecting a move amount of a probe in an up-down direction by relatively moving the probe to the cloth while the probe held to be movable up and down is kept in contact with the cloth and the pattern, and means for processing signals of the detected up-down movement amount and restoring pattern information.
