CALIBRATING DEVICE AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calibrating device and method for sharply reducing the workload of an operator by automatically calibrating a measuring device under a measurement condition for calibration without making it necessary to change the arrangement of articles to be measured for calibration. SOLUTION: This calibrating device is provided with a box for calibration for calibrating a measuring device and a moving means moving the detecting part of the measuring device between a calibrating position and a measuring position. The box for calibration is set outside a position where the detecting part can be present at the time of performing measurement so that the detecting part can be housed for calibrating the measuring device. The calibrating position is set as a position where the detecting part can be housed in the box for calibration, and the measuring position is set as a position where the measurement can be performed by the detecting part.
