PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform special display which is impossible by the conventional image projecting part of one system by making the sub-screen of this display device high definition while without making the whole of the screen of the device high definition too much and to perform the operation of plural image signal sources and the designation of display areas of plural screens of the device with the same means in a multi-screen display device. SOLUTION: In an image display device 8 having one or more input part 12a, 12b to which video signals of plural systems are inputted, one or more processing means 19 processing inputted image signals, plural image projecting means 14a, 14b and a display screen 5, one means (14b) of the projecting means or more can change the size or the display position of its image display area 5b and, also, can project an image 5b with the number of display pixels more than that of the means 14a in the image area 5a by another projecting means 14a. Moreover, the device 8 may be provided with a digitizer pen or the like and, as a result, the operation of plural image signal sources 11a, 11b and the change of the image areas 5a, 5b are possible in the display device.
