A tire has at least part of its exterior surface based on essentially unsaturated diene elastomers coated with ozone-protection coating comprising at least one air-contact layer consisting of polyurethane made of aliphatic polyethers or polyesters and polyethers or polyesters with principal semi-aromatic chain, bound to elastomer with polar groups, and containing surfactants. An Independent claim is also included for the process of ozone-protecting of at least part of surface of tire as claimed, comprising treatment of vulcanized tire surface to introduce polar character and functionalize elastomers of the surface, applying at least one coat of aqueous dispersion of polyurethane onto treated surface, and leaving applied coating to dry to produce protective coat.
