PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk cartridge which allows the formation of a head aperture to a wider area and is applicable to a head of a greater size. SOLUTION: The disk cartridge having an information recording disk 2, a cartridge case 1 which rotatably houses the information recording disk 2 and is formed with a head aperture 6 in a prescribed position and a shutter 7 which is slidably mounted at a cartridge case 1 and opens and closes the head aperture 6 is formed with the head aperture 6 toward the inner side from the end of the cartridge case 1. When the head aperture 6 is opened by moving the shutter 7, the outer peripheral part of the information recording disk 2 is exposed to the outer side in the radial direction through the head aperture 6.
