PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous colored thermosetting type base coating not affected by coating conditions (especially by humidity), shoring a good finish without causing sagging or uneven coating. SOLUTION: This aqueous colored thermosetting type base coating material is obtained by containing (I) an anionic aqueous thermosetting type resin composition and (A) cationic polymer fine particles, and a method for forming the coated film by applying the aqueous colored thermosetting type base coating material on a material to be coated, applying a clear thermosetting type coating material and then heating these coated films for curing both of the coated films is also provided.
