PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for a shadow-masking having a low thermal expansion property and, improved mechanical strength, and a shadow-mask using the above material. SOLUTION: The material for the shadow-masking contains Ni of 28-36%, Co of 1-3.5%, Mn of 0.1% or below, and at least one kind selected from Zr, Nb, Ti and V, and the residue is composed of Fe. Al and Cr can be also contained in the ratio satisfying formula 495-6.45×(Al%)-1.42×(Cr%)>=0.38. Furthermore, the shadow-mask composed of these materials, can be composed of to have a blacked film of the heat radiation of 0.38 or more on the surface.
