PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time required for recording information in the unrecorded area of a phase change type optical recording medium and to reduce jitter at that time. SOLUTION: In this method for recording information on the optical recording medium having a phase change type recording layer, the inequalities Vw/Vo>1 and 0.3<Pew/Peo<1 are satisfied. In these expressions, Vw is the linear velocity used when the information is recorded in the unrecorded area of the recording layer, Pew is the erasing power used when the information is recorded in the unrecorded area of the recording layer, Vo is the linear velocity used when the information is overwritten, and Peo is the erasing power used when the information is overwritten. |
