PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casing which can hold a hard disk drive unit without using the conventional holders and a hard disk recording and reproducing device having this casing and to enhance the reliability of the device by decreasing the number of parts and the number of assembly process steps of the device, reducing a manufacturing cost and lessening the vibration and impact from outside in assembling to the hard disk drive unit as far as possible. SOLUTION: A bottom 2a is provided with a hole 2b and supporting parts 3 for housing and supporting the hard disk drive unit 1 on the inner side of the hole 2b are integrally formed near the hole by levering the bottom 2a of the casing 2. Further, buffer plates 7 are adhered to the supporting parts 3 so as to embed the spacings between the hard disk drive unit 1 and the supporting parts 3.
