PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve both residual potential and pressure resistance. SOLUTION: In an electrophotographic photoreceptor 1, an electric insulating layer 5a consisting of silicon (Si), electrically non-insulating a-Si layer 4, electric insulating layer 5b consisting of silicon (Si), charge injection preventing layer 6 consisting of a-Si:H and photoconductive layer 7 consisting of a-SiH are successively deposited by CVD, such as a glow discharge decomposition method on a conductive substrate 3, and then a surface protective layer 8 is deposited on the photoconductive layer 7.
