PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating liquid for a charge transfer layer of an electrophotographic photoreceptor, an electrophotographic photoreceptor which uses a coating liquid, and a method for manufacturing the electrophotographic photoreceptor by using the liquid, such that the liquid does not cause whitening under a wide range of coating conditions when an electrophotographic photoreceptor is manufactured, that the obtained electrophotographic characteristics are equal to or higher than the characteristics obtained by using a conventional halogen-based solvent, and that the photoreceptor is superior in potential characteristics, durability, image characteristics and resolution under a wide range of use conditions from the initial stage of image formation over a long-term use. SOLUTION: In the coating liquid for the charge transfer layer, the solvent composition of the coating liquid consists of a combination of dimethoxymethane, cyclic ether having 100 deg.C or lower for the boiling point (at under 1 atm) and aromatic hydrocarbons (except for benzene). The electrophotographic photoreceptor is manufactured by using the coating liquid, and the coating liquid is used in the method for manufacturing the photoreceptor.
