PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photosensitive material having high sensitivity, which superior in granularity and nearly free of residual colors, after processing in rapid processing. SOLUTION: The silver halide photosensitive material contains a compound represented by formula (I) and a compound by formula (II). In the formulae, Y is, e.g. a group of atoms required for formation of heterocycle; Z1 and Z2 are each, e.g. a group of atoms required for forming an N-containing heterocycle; R, R31 and R32 are each, e.g. alkyl; D is a group required for forming a methine dye; L1, L2 and L31-L37 are each methine; p, p31 and P32 are each 0 or 1; n3 is 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4; M and M3 are each a counter ion; m and m3 are each a number 0 or larger required to neutralize electric charges in each molecule; and Z31 and Z32 are each a group of atoms required for forming an N-containing heterocycle.
