PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a large screen display device so that a joint part in plural display elements may hardly stand out at manufacturing the large screen display device by arraying plural display elements. SOLUTION: The display device main body 102 is constituted by arraying and fixing many display elements 14 in a matrix on one principal surface of a large-sized light transmission plate 140, and at least light-transmissive material 130 whose refractive index is adjusted is interposed between the large-sized light transmission plate 140 and the display elements 14. It is preferable that the refractive index of the material 130 is in close proximity to that of the large-sized light transmission plate 140. As for the light transmissivity of the material 130, it is preferable that the transmissivity for vertical incident light is >=50% in the wavelength in a visible ray region so that the light may be efficiently guided to the display elements 14 and also the power consumption may be suppressed, and it is more preferable that the transmissivity is >=70%.
