PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring instrument which suppress light reflections toward decorative members to suppress the visibility or commodity level from lowering. SOLUTION: A case 5 houses indicating meters composed of dials 7 disposed in the front of the instrument body 6 and needles 9 moving according to the revolution of the body 6. A black facing plate 13 and a transparent see-through plate 16 are disposed on the front opening of the case 5. Windows 15 facing indicating areas 10 of the indicating meters are provided at regions facing the indicating meters on a flat part 14 of the facing plate 13, metallic decorative rings 20A with a gloss as decorative members are provided around the windows 15, and the ring 20A and has an approximately inverted U-shape in section and is made by chroming the surface of a metal plate. A shading wall 23 is integrated with the facing plate 13 inside the ring 20A, i.e., the cut face 21 of the window 15.
