PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving picture edit device with which an operator can easily understand the contents of each video scene while collectively managing video scenes in a combined unit. SOLUTION: The moving picture edit device is provided with: a collective clip storage section 107 that stores moving picture clips, a set of pointers pointing out the moving picture clips, moving picture data uniting them and a clip group denoted by 1st kind icons; an operation entry section 101 that accepts an instruction from an operator; and a clip control section 104 that reproduces moving picture data in the clip group designated by the 1st kind icons when the received instruction stands for a reproduction instruction with designation of the 1st kind icons and displays 2nd kind icons in the moving picture clips denoted by a pointer of the clip group corresponding to the designated 1st kind icon when the received instruction indicates contents display of the designated 1st kind icon.
