PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent fogging and blotting caused by the break, the thickening or the scattering of a thin line from occurring. SOLUTION: In this developing device, a latent image on a latent image carrier 1 is developed by applying AC superposed bias obtained by superposing AC on DC bias to a developer carrier 2 and forming a developer thin layer on the developer carrier 2 by a layer forming member 4. Since the minimum value Vmin, of the AC superposed bias 5 and 6 being applied to the developer carrier 2 is set to be higher than the exposure potential VON of the latent image carrier 1, the blotting caused by the break, the thickening and the scattering of the thin line is prevented from occurring and the uniform image having no irregular density is formed by setting appropriate developing γ. |
