PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for vehicle capable of setting optimum contrasts corresponding to respective conditions. SOLUTION: This display device has a illuminations 5 for lamp illuminating a liquid crystal display device 4, contrast setting means 8, 9 and a control means 10 which stores information concerning driving voltages of a driving voltage supplying circuit 6 in accordance with at least two kinds of luminance of the lamp for illumination 5 and controls the circuit 6 so as to supply the stored driving voltages to the liquid crystal display device 4 in accordance with respective luminance of the lamp 5 and, also, changes driving voltages in accordance with to the setting of the contrast setting means in respective display states of the display device 4 and rewrites the information to information concerning the changed driving voltages.
