PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable, which comprises an optical cable core having no press winding and a sheath 3 which covers the circumference of the optical cable core and has tear strings 5 inside the same, has excellent impact resistance and enables easily performing the intermediate post branching. SOLUTION: In this optical fiber cable, the thickness L1 of sheath interposed between the optical cable core and the tear string 5 is made to be 0.3 mm-0.9 mm. Otherwise, a twist string consisting of yarn is used as the tear string.
