Photoinitiator mixture (M) comprises: (a) at least one alkylphenylbisacylphosphine oxides of formula (I); and (b) at least one benzoyl derivative of formula (II); and/or (c) at least one benzophenone derivative of formula (III); and/or at least one benzoyl derivative of formula (IV). R1 = 1-4C alkyl; R2 = H, 1-4C alkyl or 1-4C alkoxy; R3-R7 = H, halogen, 1-20C alkyl, cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl, 2-12C alkenyl, 2-18C alkyl interrupted by at least one O, phenyl-substituted 1-4C alkyl, or phenyl optionally mono- or di-substituted by 1-4C alkyl and/or 1-4C alkoxy; R8 = e.g. H, 1-18C alkyl, 1-18C alkoxy, O(CH2)2OR12 or CH2=C(Me); R9, R10 = H, 1-6C alkyl, phenyl, 1-16C alkoxy, OSiR13R14R14a or O((CH2)2O)q-(1-6C)alkyl; or CR9R10 = cyclohexyl; q = 1-20; R11 = OH, 1-16C alkoxy or O((CH2)2O)q-(1-16C)alkyl; provided that R9-R11 are not all 1-16C alkoxy or O((CH2)2O)q-(1-16C)alkyl; R12 = H, 1-8C alkyl, C(=O)CH=CH2, C(=O)(1-8C)alkyl or C(=O)C(Me)=CH2; R13, R14, R14a = 1-4C alkyl or phenyl; R15-R17, R15a = H, Me, phenyl, OMe, COOH, optionally 1-4C alkyl substituted phenyl, O(CH2)2OR12 or S(CH2)2OR12; R18 = H, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, 1-4C alkylthio, halogen or N(R22)2; R19 = e.g. as R18; R20 = 1-8C alkyl; R21 = H, CH=CHR24 or phenyl optionally substituted by 1-3 1-12C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy or halogen; or CR20R21 = cyclohexyl; R22, R23 = 1-4C alkyl; or NR22R23 = 5 or 6 membered optionally unsaturated ring optionally interrupted by O, NH or NMe; R24 = H or 1-4C alkyl; and R25 = H or 1-12C alkyl. Also claimed are: (1) compounds (I') i.e. (I) with the provisos that at least one of R3-R7 is other than H and that if R1 and R2 = Me, R3 and R6 are not Me; and (2) a photopolymerisable composition (PC) comprising at least one ethylenically unsaturated photopolymerisable compound and, as photoinitiator, at least one compound (I') or mixture (M). |
