PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a conventional data edit system where an editor cannot edit a video image until a video image recording tape reaches a broadcast station. SOLUTION: The data edit system is provided with: a data transmitter side unit 1 having a camera 2 that picks up a video image of an object, a recording means 4 that records the video image photographed by the camera 2 onto a tape 5, a compression means 6 that digitally compresses the video image photographed by the camera 2 to reduce the data quantity, and a mobile phone 7 that transmits the data compressed by the compression means 6 in a way of a radio wave; and a data edit side unit 8 having a reception means 9 that receives the data sent from the data transmitter side unit 1, an edit instruction input means 13 that uses the data received by the reception means 9 and accepts an instruction to apply regular editing to the video image recorded on the tape 5, and a regular edit device 14 that applies regular editing to the video image recorded on the tape 5 on the basis of the instruction accepted by the edit instruction input means 13.
