PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk array device capable of maintaining the reliability of data, and reducing the generation of the deterioration of performance. SOLUTION: In the disk array device of RAID 4 and 5, when a disk is degenerated, redundant data prepared by a device control part 2 are transferred to a battery backed-up memory 1a of a sub-system control part 1, and the redundant data are held on the memory until the writing is ended. Then, at the time of restoration after power source hit, the writing of data is not operated from a disk driver 3 but operated with the write data and parity data on the memory 1a. Also, at the time of restoration after power source hit when the disk is normal, the redundant data in the same group are read from the disk drive other than the disk drive in which the data and parity data to be written are stored, and new redundant data are prepared from the data and the write data, and written in the objective disk. |
