PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a tracking error via an optical fiber in a separation optical system. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a processing part having a laser diode 1 and a photodiode 4, a head having an objective lens 8 which faces an optical disk 101, irradiates optical disk 101 with light and condenses light from the optical disk 101, and an optical fiber array 7 which guides light emitted from the laser diode 1 of the processing part to the objective lens 8 of the head and guides light condensed by the objective lens 8 of the head to the photodiode of the processing part. A tracking error signal is detected based on a servo pattern formed on both sides of a recording track of the optical disk 101 by a prescribed distance apart from the recording track by using the detected result in the photodiode 4.
