PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate by using a thin polarizing film having small shrinking stress and to provide a method for manufacturing the plate by a different method from a conventional method. SOLUTION: The polarizing plate consists of a polarizing film having <=10 μm thickness essentially comprising a polyvinylalcohol resin and a protective film laminated on at least one surface of the film. The method for manufacturing the polarizing plate 4 with a protective film includes a process of applying a polyvinylalcohol resin on a base resin film, a process of uniaxially stretching the obtained laminated film to reduce the thickness of the polyvinylalcohol resin layer to <=10 μm, a process of laminating a protective film 3 with an adhesive on the surface of the polyvinylalcohol resin layer 1 having <=10 μm thickness, and a process of peeling and removing the base resin film 2 after the protective film 3 is laminated. |
