PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency in data communication in a USB system. SOLUTION: A USB functioning device 14, connected to a USB host 12 in a USB system 10, is provided with a circuit 32 for imparting capability to the USB host 12 and the circuit 32 is provided with an address space VBUS. Also, the device 14 is provided with a USB interface circuit 30 connected between the USB host 12 and the circuit 32. The circuit 30 is provided with memory areas 44 and 106, having a write end point 1062, which can be accessed by the USB host, and in this memory area, plural bytes are written via the write end point. These plural bytes contain data information and protocol information. Furthermore, the USB interface circuit 30 is provided with a circuit 166 for decoding the protocol information and a circuit for communicating the data information to the address space, in response to the protocol information.
