PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set the shape and structure of a fixing member for fixing an end of a chain to an automatic vending machine or the like, such that a fixed portion of the fixing member is not easily destroyed, to thereby extend a time period required for opening a door of the machine and depress a will of a theft to steal by opening the door. SOLUTION: The fixing member 12 having a sideways hole 17 into which an end ring 1a of the chain 1 is inserted, is comprised of a head housing hole 19 and a shaft housing hole 21 formed therein. The head housing hole 19 is formed in a manner reaching the sideways hole 17 from a tip portion along an axial direction of the fixing member 12, so as to house a head portion 18 of an installing shaft 13. The shaft housing hole 21 is formed in a manner penetrating from the sideways hole 17 to a rear surface of the fixing member 12, so as to house a shaft portion 20 of the installing shaft 13. Then, the sideways hole 17 of the fixing member 12 and the shaft portion 20 of the installing shaft 13 are formed so as to accommodate rotation of the end ring la of the chain 1 in a range of predetermined angular degrees about an axial center of the shaft portion 20. Further, a threaded hole for a fixing bolt 14 is formed in the shaft portion 20 of the installing shaft 13.
