PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging apparatus for a vertical melting furnace, which can charge compound waste under such a state without separation or classification and corresponds to segmented charging in the direction of the radius of the furnace. SOLUTION: The apparatus 1, charging the compound waste containing at least metals and plastics and coke into the top of the furnace, is provided with a charging apparatus for a furnace center part 2 charging large diameter raw materials and fuels to a furnace center part 15 and a charging apparatus for a furnace peripheral part 3 charging small diameter raw materials and fuels into the furnace peripheral part 16, wherein the charging apparatus for the furnace center 2 comprises a bucket 4 of which bottom part 4a can be opened and closed and a cylindrical charging guide for the center part 5 introducing the supplied raw materials and fuels into the furnace center part 15 and the charging apparatus for the furnace peripheral part 3 comprises a bucket 7 provided with a bell 6 at a lower opening part and a charging guide for the peripheral part of the frustum of a cone 8 for introducing the supplied raw materials and fuels into the furnace peripheral part 16.
