PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform cleaning for a magnetic head by combining the advantages of the rotating and fixed types of a cleaning roller. SOLUTION: Cleaning based on a rotating type is performed by turning on a plunger 5 to disengage a pawl part 21A of a brake arm 21 from the gear 19A of a cleaning roller 19. Alternatively, cleaning based on a fixed type is performed by turning on a plunger 6 to engage the pawl part 21A of the brake arm 21 with the gear 19A of cleaning roller 19. Thus, by the selective turning on/off of the plungers 5 and 6, the rotating system capable of preventing the unevenness of a contact place though a cleaning force is weak, and the fixed system of a string cleaning force are selectively used to provide a highly efficient cleaning effect and prolong the life of the cleaning roller.
