The portal axle for a coach comprises a housing for the differential connected to two axle shafts and which is fitted with suspension springs connecting it via shock absorbers to the coach chassis. The springs consist of a solid, coreless metal casting. Each spring has a curved section (3) at the housing end and a projection (4) which increases its rigidity.
