The drum brake has bother the brake shoes (2, 3) prestressed by constructionally identical springs against the brake carrier (4). The spring on the first shoe has a different built-in measurement (23) to the corresponding spring on the second shoe, so that different pre-stressing forces are exerted on each of the two brake shoes.
