METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRESSURE TESTING SEALED PACKAGES

An apparatus and a method for pressure testing a sealed package is disclosed. The apparatus includes a test chamber 3 which is adapted to contain a medium that allows visual identification of leaks in the package. The apparatus also includes suction members in the form of vacuum pads 13 for supporting the package immersed in the medium within the test chamber. The apparatus also includes a needle 17 that can be inserted into the package and can supply a fluid to the interior of the package to generate a positive pressure within the package while the package is being held by the support means submerged in the test chamber.
