<p>A voltage transducer (30) for medium to high voltage electrical equipment (20) having a conductor (21) in an insulating body (22), said voltage transducer comprising a substrate (31) composed of non-conductive material, a first layer of conductive material (32) deposited onto the substrate to form a first electrode, a layer of insulating material (33) deposited onto the first electrode to form a dielectric, and a second layer of conductive material (34) deposited onto the dielectric to form a second electrode; wherein one of the electrodes is adapted for location in the electrical equipment proximate said conductor and the insulating material is selected to have substantially the same temperature coefficient of relative permittivity as the insulating body of the electrical equipment. In an alternative arrangement, the voltage transducer of the invention may include a thin conductive metallic strip, preferably composed of copper, in substitution for the substrate and first electrode.</p> |
