<p>A catalyst for clarifying emission gas characterized by comprising an oxide carrier, an inorganic oxide having an electronegativity greater than that of palladium oxide, and palladium oxide. The inorganic oxide having an electronegativity greater than that of palladium oxide is preferably tungsten trioxide, antimony tetraoxide or molybdenum trioxide. Preferably, the oxide carrier is covered by the inorganic oxide, on which palladium oxide is present. The catalyst for clarifying emission gas is markedly reduced in the poisoning by CO or sulfur and exhibits improved performances in activity as compared to conventional palladium catalysts. Further, the catalyst for clarifying emission gas can be used as an auxiliary catalyst for an absorption reduction type Nox removing catalyst comprising a catalyst component such as platinum or gold and an absorbing agent such as an alkali metal.</p> |
