A heated extruder system, to provide dry animal feed and the like, has a rotating shaft with a number of cutters. The shaft axis is aligned with the extrusion axis. The cutters are of different lengths, and can be interrupted or non-linear. Preferably the cutters of different lengths have at least two cutters, symmetrically in relation to the rotating shaft axis, or there are four cutters at right angles. The longer cutter is twice the length of the shorter cutter. The interrupted cutters have at least two offset blades of the same length, at different intervals along the rotating shaft axis, symmetrical to the axis. The non-linear cutters have at least one notched blade, with at least two cutters symmetrical to the shaft axis. |
