The hydrodynamic torque converter (10) for a road vehicle has a housing (11) with an impeller wheel (12). It has a turbine with a cowling (40) and hub (60) optionally linked to turbine vanes (14). The turbine hub is especially assembled from sheet metal components (61,67). The turbine cowling is fitted to the hub, combining the functions of seal and guide.
