<p>In the production of symmetric or asymmetric 3,6-di(het)aryl-1,4-diketopyrrolo(3,4-c)pyrrole pigments (I) by reacting a succinic diester (II) with (het)aryl nitrile(s) (IIIA) and (IIIB) in an organic solvent and in the presence of a strong base, followed by hydrolysis of the resultant salt of (I), reaction and hydrolysis is carried out in a microreactor.
