<p>This invention is a pen-shaped pocket device used to test voltage and resistance of electrical and electronic circuits and components. Features include; (a) Proximity non-contact AC voltage detection with magnitude approximation; (b) AC voltage contact testing with neutral, earth and active terminal discrimination; (c) Electrical earth integrity checking; (d) Continuity checking; (e) A resistance measurement approximation with two automatic ranges from 0GΦ to 2KΦ and 2KΦ to 1MΦ; (f) High resistance testing up to 10GΦ; (g) Capacitance checking with open, short circuit and leakage indication; (h) DC voltage polarity checking; (i) DC 12Volt integrity tester with terminal discrimination. No manual switches or dials are required for the invention to work. The data display of the invention is a single light having a wide color spectrum. Various colors denote different variable constants such as terminal discrimination and different hue of the same color is used for approximation of measurements such as Ohms or Volts. The invention is incorporated into a writing/marking instrument that may be a ballpoint, fiber-tip or mechanical pen/pencil or a similar writing tool.</p> |
