LEAK DETECTOR

A portable leak detector (2) includes a housing (4) having an inlet (6) and an outlet (8) each in fluid communication between an interior and an exterior of the housing (4). A gas sensor (26), having a property that changes in response to exposure of the gas sensor to one or more gases, is positioned in fluid communication with the interior of the housing (4) via the inlet (6) thereof. The leak detector (2) includes a probe lamp (24), a plurality of first indicator lamps (68) supported by the housing (4) and a speaker (102) supported by the housing (4). A controller (76) supported by the housing (4) is connected to detect the property of the gas sensor (26). The controller (76) causes the probe lamp (24) to flash at a first frequency, causes a first group of the plurality of first indicator lamps (68) to illuminate, and/or causes the loudspeaker (102) to chirp at a second frequency all as a function of a detected property of the gas sensor (26).
