In a batch cooking process for pulp production, the number of tanks required for storing black liquor at various temperatures is reduced by using heat exchange in the flow path from tank to digester, independently from the digester heating devices. Thus, black liquor of a desired temperature can be introduced to the digester at any stage in the process, whereby the need for heating in the digester circulations is reduced, and heat exchangers may be eliminated.
|
