Separation of membrane proteins, useful for proteosome analysis, by attaching membranes to carrier then performing electrophoretic migration

Separating membrane proteins (I) comprises attaching membranes to a carrier surface then applying an electric field to the membrane to cause electrophoretic migration of (I), in the membrane, so that they are separated in one or two dimensions. (I) either spans the membrane or is partially embedded in it. The surface of the carrier is first modified chemically so that it binds membranes in such a way that the ability of (I) to diffuse in the membrane is retained.
