An object of the present invention is to provide an image forming apparatus that has an image bearing body, charging device, wherein the charging device includes charging particle being in friction contact with the image bearing body thereby charging the image bearing body, electrostatic image forming device, developing device, and transfer device, wherein a pressure of the transfer material to the image bearing body is not less than 1 g/cm and not more than 100 g/cm in line pressure.
