The invention relates to a computer tomograph comprising a radiation source from which a bundle of rays provided with a fan angle are emitted. The bundle of rays can be displaced about a system axis inside a measuring field defined by the fan angle in order to scan an object which is to be examined. The inventive computer tomograph also comprises a detector system which is used to detect the radiation emitted by the radiation source. The detection system produces output signals corresponding to the radiation received. The signals are supplied to an electronic calculating device which reconstructs the images of the object which is to be examined on the basis of said output signals in relation to a reconstruction field which is greater than the measuring field.
