<p>A machine tool (11) for machining a large work (89) such as an aircraft part installed on a work mounting table (99) by moving a spindle with a tool in X-, Y-, and Z-directions, wherein a work support side structural body (15) is provided at a position opposed to a spindle support side structural body (13) having a spindle head (73) formed therein movably in X-, Y-, and Z-directions, a pallet (105) is installed on the work mounting table (99) of the work support side structural body (15), i.e., on two pallet installation surfaces positioned back to back, with one pallet installation surface of the work mounting table (99), supported so as to be allowed to be indexed rotatingly about a horizontal axis extending in X-axis direction, held horizontally by a rotatingly indexing means, and the pallet (105) is positioned vertically by the rotatingly indexing means before the work (89) is machined, whereby even the large work (89) can be machined efficiently at a high speed and with a high accuracy and an installation area can be reduced.</p> |
