Catalytic converter for personal hair-setting appliance has ignition appliance, gas feeder, bypass, and two gas-permeable covers

The catalytic gas-burning appliance incorporates a gas-feeder (12) connected to a catalytic converter (5) and to an ignition appliance igniting a gas-air mixture. The gas-feeder has a bypass (40) for diverting part of the gas-current flowing to the ignition device. A first gas-permeable cover (47) is positioned in the gas -feeder behind the bypass which contains a second gas-permeable cover (41). The two covers are made of metal mesh.
