The body part has outer and inner walls and gas chambers inbetween. The chambers (14) extend up to the inner wall (16) and the chamber walls (15) between the inner and outer walls are deformable or one of the chamber walls is deformable and the other has an ideal break line so that an airbag tube can be mounted in the relevant chamber and the entire outer wall is forced away from the inner wall when the gas generator is activated to bias the chamber with gas. The outer wall and chamber walls can be made from steel or aluminium whilst the inner wall can be made from plastics, steel or aluminium.
