The invention relates to V-belts for low-loss power transmission. In a V-belt arrangement for transmitting rotational movements between (at least ) two pulleys, consisting of at least one endless load carrying element (10a and/or 10b) and a plurality of blocks (2) placed thereon, the at least one load carrying element (10a and/or 10b) in fitted into slits (6a and/or 6b) which extend from at least one inclined side face (4a and/or 4b) of the blocks (2) toward the central segment thereof. The invention aims at improving accurate fitting between the block-slit (6a and/or 6b) and the load carrying element (10a and/or 10b) and at ensuring a more stable seat of the blocks (2) on the at least one load carrying element (10a and/or 10b). To this end, the at least one load carrying element (10a and/or 10b) and/or the slits (6a and/or 6b) of the transversal blocks (2) have a conically tapering cross section, wherein the width of the aperture of the slits (6a and/or 6b) is larger than the corresponding base width. The at least one load carrying element (10a and/or 10b) to be received by the slits (6a and/or 6b) can slightly project beyond the apertures of the corresponding slits (6a and/or 6b). The blocks (2) serving as support elements are preferably made of one or several materials with a higher module than that of an elastomer material of the at least one load carrying element (10a and/or 10b). The invention can be used for continuous rotational speed and torque conversion, especially in automobile applications. |
