发明名称 Improvements in systems for controlling sliding glass panes
摘要 847,309. Window holders. ETABLISSEMENTS G. KLEIN & CIE. May 16, 1958 [May 18, 1957], No. 15742/58. Class 44. In a system for holding a vertically slidable window pane 1 in the desired position relative to its fixed frame, locking devices 6 at each side of the window are controlled by means which, after having been actuated to effect the release of the devices 6, ensures, after a given time interval, during which time the pane can be re-adjusted to a new position, automatic return of the devices 6 to the locking position. Each device 6 includes a lever 8 pivoted at its ends 9, 16 respectively to a fixed support 10 and a link 12 pivoted at its other end to a bent lever 13 pivoted at 14 to the support 10. The lever 8 carries a spindle 7 which extends through a bar 5 along the adjacent side of the windows. The bars 5 pressing the sides of the. pane against resilient packings 17 carried by the window frame when links 15, interconnecting the pivot points 11 of the corresponding pairs of devices 6 at each side of the window, are retracted into their lowered position as shown in Fig. 4. When the links 15 are raised the spindles 7 carry the clamping bars 5 away from the window to release the latter. Each link 15 is connected through links 18, 19 and a bell-crank lever 20 to a control lever 21 pivoted at 22 to a fixed part of the window. One end of the control lever 21 is pivoted at 28 to the rod of a piston 24 moving in a pivotally-mounted cylinder 25 and biased to the full-stroke position by an energy-storing spring 29. A dash-pot 30, containing liquid and adjoining the cylinder 25 communicates with the latter through a spring- loaded check valve 31 and a calibrated orifice 33. In operation, when the control lever 21 is moved to the right, the links 15, 18 are raised and the bars 5 are moved out of engagement with the pane 1. At the same time the piston 24 compresses the spring 29 while sucking liquid into the cylinder past the valve 31. As soon as the operator releases the control lever 21 the spring 24 urges the piston back at a relatively low speed the valve 31 being closed and the liquid escaping from the cylinder through the orifice 33. During the time between the operation of the lever 21 and its return to its initial position the pane 1 is free to be moved by the operator. The return of the system to its locking position can be accelerated by the inclusion of a by-pass in parallel with the orifice 33. For glass panes having manual control of the lever or handwheel type the locking devices may be operated by the initial displacement of the control. A pane counter-balancing device, such as 4 is optional.
