Both of the swivel wheels (13) can only rotate about an essentially vertical axis and are fixed to the undercarriage frame (30), whilst the driven wheels (12) are connected to a mechanism that will lower or raise one of the driven wheels relative to the undercarriage frame in order to counter any opposing raising or lowering of the other driven wheel. An independent claim is also included for a wheelchair fitted with the undercarriage.
