PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commercially advantageous hydrocarbon steam reforming process by using a catalyst with high activity and long service life, and capable of reducing carbon deposit at a lower steam/carbon ratio than using Ni catalyst. SOLUTION: In a steam reforming process reforming hydrocarbon by supplying hydrocarbon and steam to a catalytic layer, the catalytic layer is characterized by being at least composed of a upstream catalytic layer composed of at least Ru component supported on an alumina support, and a downstream side catalytic layer containing Ni. |
