PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope with a thin outer diameter usable even for internal organs of a narrow lumen such as a bronchial tube and capable of obtaining an ordinary observation image and the magnified image without impairing operability nor enlarging a system. SOLUTION: Through holes 25 and 26 for a frame for arranging an observation optical system are formed in a tip body part 11 of a slender inserting part of the endoscope. A lens frame 28 for supporting plural lens groups 27 is arranged in the through hole 25 for the frame as an observation optical system, and a lens frame 30 for supporting plural lens groups 29 is arranged in the through hole 26 for the frame. The lens groups 27 arranged in front of an image pickup part body 32 are formed as a high power optical system for magnifying observation, and the lens groups 29 arranged in front of an image guide 31 are formed as an optical system for ordinary observation. Thus, an objective optical system for ordinary observation and an optical system for magnifying observation can be selectively or simultaneously used according to an observation object and a purpose in an endoscope inspection.
