PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electronic component such as a chip capacitor which is excellent in reduction resistance at firing, has superior capacitance-temperature characteristics after firing, scarcely deteriorates insulation resistance even in the case in particular of thinning and is low in the rate of occurrence of defectives in initial stage insulation resistance. SOLUTION: There is provided a method for manufacturing the electronic component having a dielectric layer composed of a dielectric porcelain composition which is expressed by the compositional formula, (Sr1-xCax)O}m.(Ti1-yZry) O2, and has a main component satisfying 0<=x<=1.00 and 0<=y<=0.20 in the above formula. The dielectric porcelain composition is produced by using a raw material which is expressed by the compositional formula, (Sr1-xCax)O}m'.(Ti1-yZry) O2, and satisfies m'<m in the mol ratio m' of the above formula. |
